We Believe
Purpose | We Believe | Kathy Cope
The Holy Bible, though written by men, was divinely inspired by God through the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the infallible, authoritative Word of God. It is completely true, perfect, and without error. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21).
There is one true and living God, who exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (John 10:30. John 14:26, Philippians 2:5-7, 1 Timothy 1:17).
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the eternal son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a perfect sinless life. He provided for the atonement of our sins by His substitutionary death on the cross. He was buried, and bodily resurrected from the grave. He ascended back to the right hand of God where He forever intercedes for all believers. (John 1:1, Matthew 1:18-23, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:25, Matthew 28:6, Hebrews 10:12).
The Holy Spirit is the fully divine Spirit of God and indwells all believers. The Holy Spirit regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers believers to live godly lives. (John 14:16-18, 16:7-14, Acts 1:8, Romans 8:9-11, Ephesians 1:13-14).
All people are created by God in His image, but separated from God by sin. Salvation is God’s free gift of grace and cannot be earned. Salvation can only be obtained by faith in Jesus Christ and His life, death, burial, and resurrection. (Genesis 1:26, Ephesians 2:8-9).
All believers form the universal Church. The church is the Body of Christ and He is the Head. (Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:18).
Jesus Christ will return to earth in glory. The dead will be bodily resurrected and judged. Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will spend eternity in Heaven. Those who have rejected Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Hell, separated from God. (Matthew 16:27, John 14:1-3, Acts 1:11, Romans 14:10, Philippians 3:20-21, Hebrews 9:28).
